I Was Just Wonderin'...

Pressing Questions of the Week: Kurt Busch Married? Nap-Time at MWR? Will Batman Return?

Greg Biffle has a very cool car this week for the American Red Cross (see image here), but I can't be the only one who wondered, "Whose legs are those?"

Headlines this week talk about how Tony Stewart hopes to re-sign Ryan Newman. Gosh, what a suspenseful story that is! Will he? Won't he? Let's all just agree to act surprised when Ryan Newman stays on at SHR, okay?

Dale Earnhardt, Jr's gonna run a Batman scheme at Michigan! I wonder if anyone else is hoping, with fingers crossed, that someone (even if it's not MIS) will get Batman to again give the command to start engines. If that happens, my DVR-recording-you-tube-savvy readers, PLEASE will someone upload it and send me the link for use in that week's CHEERS and JEERS?

Jimmy Spencer is retiring to Pennsylvania. He wants to be near his dad and mother-in-law, and he wants to do some gardening and traveling. When I read about his plans, I couldn't help but wish more people had the draw to do that. Just walk away. Sell the house, move the family, and go enjoy life beyond NASCAR.

Apparently this is a big thing for the Ohio State Football team, so MWR is going to do it, too. They are rewarding the crew with stickers for their helmets. Yes, stickers. Do a good job, and we'll give you a sticker. Then after we have our graham crackers and milk, we'll all lay our heads down for a story and naptime.

Has anyone else noticed Kurt Busch wearing a wedding ring? In the still-shot of Craig Strickler just before he assaulted the FOX cameraman, check out Driver #51's left hand.

David Ragan will have his All-Star car sponsored by U.S.Shredder, "one of the world's leading suppliers of equipment and parts to the Scrap Industry." Wouldn't that be a better sponsor for Talladega? Or Brian Vickers? Maybe they remember David's rookie year.

I think the ring is on the finger of the guy holding Kurt from behind. I know there's a girl with him at the races but maybe she'd not dumb enough to marry him.
Jimmy Spencer gave a convoluted explanation of his future plans last night on race hub and now I'm confused about whether he's moving or not. I guess we'll see. He said he's not leaving Speed.

I didn't think Mr. E's explanation was unclear at all. He said he was moving south & staying on Speed, if they would have him.

Tybeecat,
Wow. Definitely right about that. That means only one thing... My eyes are worse than I thought! And a word to the wise, learn from my mistake and don't pass on the bifocals for vanity's sake! LOL

I never even saw the guy hugging Kurt from the back... I wonder if that's his full time job - follow the driver and hold him back whenever necessary.

Re Craig Stickler:

No one in the garage area should have the right to wear a hat that looks like Dick Bergren's.

@ Mr O

That is EXACTLY who I thought it was when I first saw the video on Saturday night, lol

Eddo,
That's exactly what I thought, too! LOL I couldn't think of "helping hands", all I could think of was like a ventriloquist, but I knew that wasn't right. Now I just want Mr. Helping Hands to try and feed some kind of cream pie to Kurt. Oops, missed. Sorry.

if the current act passed by the house becomes law it looks like tony, rick, and richard will all be looking for sponsors.

Salt Shaker - I'd be curious if the sponsors of the bill to defund military sponsorship of sporting events or teams would be willing to ban ALL government advertising? And all other government spending not specifically authorized by the constitution. If not it looks, gasp, to be politically motivated. And one of the authors is from Georgia - that would seem to be political suicide...

Oh, and didn't James Finch say he would have "zero tolerance" for any type of Kurt Busch shenanigans? Wellllllll Mr Finch - we're waiting to see if you are a man of your word...been almost a week now...

Yeah I don't think the surprise of whether Ryan stays with Tony has anything to do with SHR but everything to do with sponsorship. If Army goes away & more part time sponsors can't be found, then Ryan may have a difficult time anywhere. But I also read somewhere the Bass Pro Shops may not sign with Jamie, who is also ending a contract this year, so.... Nothing against Jamie because I like him but I really like Ryan so if he could get that sponsorship full time...WOW.
