Cheers and Jeers

The Dog, My Homework, and that Pesky COX DVR!

So I was away from home Sunday, and watching the race elsewhere. As it happened, by the time church was over, we were about 40 laps into the race. No worries, I thought, I have it recording on my DVR at home.

I watched what I could of the race, making some notes, writing some snarky comments here and there, all with the intent of rewatching at home and filling in the gaps. I had maybe half the race written, still missing the first part of it, and having not written anything about the finish. I could complete it Monday morning or afternoon, not unusual for me, and still be on schedule.

But when I arrived home to find I'd left my computer somewhere else, I put it off a day. The next day (now it's Tuesday), I still don't have my computer, but decide I can make do with my phone and iPad. They're both "smart", they say... but evidently not smart enough to compensate for my DVR and its unwillingness to record the race. I got the PRE-race, but not the main event.

Rather than posting the middle section of the race, a half-column only, I've opted to scrap the whole thing. CHEERS to Joey winning, but that's about all we've got this week, I'm afraid. My apologies to you who have faithfully returned here each week, looking for the words of a midwest half-wit race fan. I'll try again next week. Just keep trying, right?

-Carol

That's OK Carol, you really didn't miss anything any way. No matter how hard NASCAR tries they still can't make the racing better. Joey led 130+ of the 200 laps and killed everyone on the restarts. Just more of the same. The only good thing is that Michigan was up 2% in the overnight ratings. Its only the second race this year that has rated an increase in the overnight ratings. About says it all. Why don't you get one of those little chips and place it in your laptop and then you can find it with your phone!!!!!!! Thanks for your efforts for all of us old diehard fans week in and week out.

Carol, I look forward to CHEERS and JEERS each week. There are sites online where you can watch the full race. With this being an off-weekend, I'd still read about Michigan next week.

I agree with wb517 about still reading about Michigan next week. But it was a boring race and I do not encourage your to watch it just to write a C&J column.

I agree with clyde. "Golden years" pft.

Apologies.. I didn't communicate that very well, evidently. I haven't LOST my computer. I knew where it was, but I just couldn't get to it at the time. Otherwise, KBTOYS, I'd definitely have been exhibiting the appropriate amount of freaking out. LOL
